Jungle Jana

Bio:
The Voice Behind the Jungle Mic
Jungle Jana is the voice of the rainforest... bold, informed, and deeply rooted in the wild heart of the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica.
Founded by veteran broadcaster and environmental communicator Jani Schulz, also known as Jana of the Jungle continues a lifetime of storytelling dedicated to conservation, biodiversity, and sustainable living. From early days as a PBS news anchor and commercial radio personality in Texas and Washington, to publishing international wildlife journalism, Jana has always stood at the intersection of media and meaningful conversation.
Her work reached new heights in Costa Rica with the creation of Rainforest Radio, a national AM station broadcasting on 960 AM and streaming globally. Through her signature program Jana of the Jungle, and later State of the Oceans on LA Talk Radio, Jana brought environmental leaders, marine conservationists, activists, and global change makers to the airwaves.
From interviews with ocean defenders like Captain Paul Watson to discussions on endangered species, marine protection, and rainforest preservation, her work has consistently amplified the urgent issues facing our planet, especially in one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth: the Osa Peninsula.
Today, Jungle Jana carries that legacy forward, connecting listeners to:
• Biodiversity and conservation stories from the rainforest
• Sustainable tourism and community voices
• Marine protection and ocean advocacy
• Cultural and ecological leadership across Costa Rica
Jungle Jana more than a program, it is a movement rooted in education, awareness, and action.
The Rainforest has a voice. This is it.
