Married for 15 years, Dr. Wright is the matriarch of a blended family with six children and three grandchildren. Eight years ago, she relocated from Delaware to Newport News, VA, seeking new opportunities and fresh beginnings. Iris's entrepreneurial spirit and passion for service emerged early in life, laying the foundation for her wide-ranging career. After a decade in restaurant management and various roles, her true calling in healthcare became clear at age 28, and she launched a mission centered on compassionate care. In 2019, inspired by Steve Harvey’s Jump, she left traditional employment to build her own legacy—launching Wrights Virtual Services. Her journey expanded with the creation of Caring Hearts Senior Living in 2021, later rebranded as Caring Hearts Telecare in 2022, earning consecutive nominations for Best Home Care of the Year in 2023 and 2024. Dr. Wright’s impact extends beyond business. In July 2022, she was invited to speak at a Leading Age seminar on Telehealth in Home Care, showcasing her progressive approach to elder care. Her leadership has earned her the 2025 Phenomenal Woman Award, Top 100 Innovator & Entrepreneur Award, 3x Presidential Lifetime Achievement Awards, Forbes Top 20 Entrepreneur to Watch in 2024, CREA Global Award, the Empowered Diva Award, the I Inspire Global Award, and the America Award. She is also a Christlet Award Winner for Black Diamond Chronicles and an International Impact Award Winner for her Injustice series, Black Diamond Chronicles , and Being Me Is Super. Dr. Wright won the 2025 Entrepreneur Award. As an author, Dr. Wright uses her voice to uplift others. Her bestsellers include Taking Your Power Back, From Brokenness to Brilliance, Black Diamond Chronicles, Injustice Vol I, Injustice Vol II, Injustice Vol III, and her children’s books Being Me Is Enough and Being Me Is Super, which encourage self-love and confidence in young readers. Her upcoming solo works, Injustice: My Story and Evolving the Storm, explore her personal journey of triumph and transformation. With new projects like The Impact Leader Featuring Kevin Harrington (The Original Shark from Shark Tank), and Teen Mom to Entrepreneur launching in 2025, her influence through writing continues to grow. Beyond business and authorship, Dr. Wright is a fierce advocate for affordable home care and fair reimbursement for seniors. Her Injustice Movement, launched in 2023, provides legal support to the wrongly accused and works to reunite families torn apart by injustice. She is currently involved in a clemency campaign for a man who has served 27 years of an 80-year sentence for a non-violent crime.
