JILLIAN BOYD

Jillian Boyd

Jillian Boyd holds an MFA Professional Actor's Training Program at the University of Washington and has spent the last 20 years working as a performer in television and theatre.

Having always loved being with and working with animals, she wanted to find a way to spend more time with them. So, she went back to school to receive formal training in dog obedience and behavior modification at Animal Behavior College ("ABC"). Graduating in 2009, she has continued to expand her training and knowledge of dog/human relationships by attending workshops led by notable dog trainers and/or behaviorists, reading their books, and subscribing to industry publications. In 2010, she began her dog training business, What's Up, Pup?

Jillian is originally from Peachtree City, Georgia, currently resides in the San Fernando Valley, and has two awesome dogs, Lida and Tex.

"I believe wholeheartedly that using positive, yet non-permissive training and guidance is the best way to work with our dogs. Having our dogs work for a reward instead of working to avoid punishment not only makes training fun for both our dogs and us, but also builds a strong, trustful relationship."

  RUSS AVISON
Russ Avison

Russ Avison began his professional dog training career in 1999 and has become one of the leaders in positive reinforcement training. He was involved in the development of the dog training program for Petsmart as well as developing new training instructors.

He has consulted on various commercials as well as handling dogs.

Russ' current endeavors include an active partnership in All dogs rule! day camp and sleep-overs for dogs, owner of Canine Logic dog training school and mentor for the Animal Behavior College.

Russ is originally from Skokie, Illinois and has spent the better part of his life in Southern California (the worst part he has blocked from his memory). He currently resides in Fillmore, California.

"I have always believed that there is really something special about dogs and their connection with humans.? We are not masters of our dogs.? Rather, we should establish our position as the dog's Pet Parent, entrusted with teaching them - not controlling them."

  LISA SLOAN STROM

Lisa's passion with radio goes back to middle school, when she ordered a pen radio from the mail order section of a comic book and listened to it at night after lights-out. During college she worked as a deejay and produced features for campus and NPR stations.

Her most recent work was as a producer for Green Patriot Radio. Lisa has a 1-year-old standard poodle named Zuma.
