Terry Le Grand transfers his show “The Alternative” from KTLK 1170 Los Angeles to LATALK Radio. Terry Le Grand, has been a GAY activist for many years and now is the Co-Chair of ACT UP Southern California, he is a DEIST and believes that organized religion should not have a significant place in the world today because it’s the cause of most of the major problems of the world.
He is the Executive Producer for Marathon Films and is currently working on a new GAY themed theater presentation.
He is a retired physician and Executive Director of a major AIDS Organization in the Los Angeles area. He lives in North Hollywood with his two cats but shares his life with his two GAY related sons.

Next, Charles Robbins discussed The Trevor Project, the national provider of life saving resources to LGBTQ youth and their families. They offer nationwide 24/7 call centers for LGBTQ suicide prevention and offer empowering social activities for positive self esteem. Then sports correspondent Buddy Early discussed the upcoming GAY Softball World Series in Cleveland, OH, the GAY Games in Cologne, Germany, and the controversy surrounding non-GAY players on GAY softball teams. Robert Breining followed sharing his story of coming out as an HIV positive man and promoting POZIAM Radio, which he founded. Next IML 2010 Tyler McCormick shared his journey from FTM as well as the controversy surrounding his IML 2010 title. Then judicial candidate Vicky Kolakowski discussed her MTF transition as well as her views on transsexuals in the legal community and her bid to be the first elected transsexual judge. World renowned gender reassignment surgeon and OB/GYN Dr. Marci Bowers followed discussing her transition and the medical perspective of gender reassignment surgery. First The Alternative’s producer Andrew Holinsky presented Live from Outfest 2010 Opening Gala at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday, July 8th. The Gala honored actress Jane Lynch as well as featured Howl starring James Franco as Allen Ginsberg and written and directed by Jeffrey Friedman and Rob Epstein. Next Sir Ivan Wilzig discussed his music, family, and philanthropy. Then author Ellen Hart discussed her novels and her place in modern culture as the only gay mainstream mystery writer writing about gay characters. Next The Alternative aired a special interview with Durk Dehner from the Erotic Art Fair on March 27, 2010 on preserving gay culture. Then Damian Pelliccione discussed his acting career, WebTV Workshop, Hollywood’s first WebTV School that he cofounded, and his new web series featuring gay superheroes, Cartera. Last, Dean Hamer and Joe Wilson promoted their new documentary Out in the Silence, which was featured earlier in the day at Outfest. |

The Alternative celebrated Independence Day with visits from Buddy Early, discussing GAY sports, and Sister Naughty and Sister Barb Ie-q, promoting the Sisters Art Walk in downtown LA on August 12th. Additionally, Greg Obsorne aka Jamie Hendrix, live from Australia, discussed his careers in the adult and non-adult entertainment industry. GLBTQ Online High School founder David Glick followed explaining the need and how the community can help the school continue to expand. Next Carlos Sosa joined in studio to promote C.I.T.Y x1, an organization dedicated to creating social events and activities for LGBTQ youth and their allies (ages 14-24) in the Los Angeles area that exist at no cost, offer youth an alternative to the club scene, and are alcohol & tobacco-free. Then, live from Canada, Chris Carter and John Simpson discussed their previous shows and new show starting July 7th on Logo, Chris & John Go to Camp! |

Guy followed with a brief Q & A session about the play with Yellow’s writer Del Shores. Afterwards, Marc Harshbarger promoted 'Deep Dish', a groovy gay pop culture blog as well as his other projects. Next, Alix Dobkin, the singer of Lavender Jane Loves Women, the very first album by, for and about Lesbians in the history of the world, discussed her life, career, influences, and social activism. Next, as we celebrated Mother’s Day, GAY parents Tony Zimbardi and Antonio LeMons discussed their road to parenthood and raising a family. Afterwards, Robyn Harrod, of the Southern California Foster Family Adoption Center, and John Ireland, freelance journalist and filmmaker, discussed the path of adoption in Los Angeles County and nationally as well as stressed the importance of supporting HR 3827 "Every Child Deserves a Family Act". The Every Child Deserves a Family Act (ECDF) is a federal bill that would increase the number of qualified individuals eligible to become adoptive or foster parents by restricting federal funding for states employing discriminatory practices in adoption and foster care placements based on sexual orientation, gender identity or marital status. Last, GAY parents Jane Syftestad and Pamela Fairbanks shared their story as well on their roads to parenthood and raising a family. |

In studio guest Queen Elizabeth Victoria Ortega discussed the Royal Court of West Hollywood, a community non-profit organization based on a monarchy structure.
