The true identity of 'The Good Doc' is Dr. Patrick Rishe. Patrick wears many hats...and hopefully not too many skirts.
He is the Director of Sportsimpacts, a research firm that conducts economic impact and market research studies for pro and amateur sporting events.
He is an Associate Professor of Economics at Webster University, a 4-year liberal arts college based in St Louis, MO. Webster University has campus locations worldwide. Partly due to this fact, Webster U. matriculates the largest number of MBA graduates annually of any 4-year institution.
Patrick began broadcasting with LA Talk Radio in the summer of 2008 while on sabbatical from Webster. During this sabbatical, which runs through Jan 1, 2009, Patrick taught his sports business class at both UCLA and Pepperdine Universities.
He has also been the sports business writer for the St Louis Sports Magazine since its inception in April 2007. The St Louis Sports Magazine is a monthly publication.
Patrick's passion for sports was fostered growing up in a family headed by a father who was a high school athletics director and older brothers who were successful high school and collegiate athletes.
Though The Good Doc fancies himself as being decent at soccer, tennis, golf, football, and the ever-dangerous ping-pong, he is really quite modest.
And for some strange reason, Patrick thinks he can sing and dance...his friends keep trying to convince him otherwise, but stubbornness is a tough quality to shake.
Ever the educator, The Good Doc offers a few interesting links below to the interested reader. Some of these links are shameless, self-absorbed 'plugs'. The others contain informative information for the hungry sports fan.
Enjoy, thanks for listening, and keep that eye on the prize.
