Cortney Matz is a singer/songwriter and entrepreneur in Los Angeles, building community among fellow artists, writers and music professionals through events. She cultivates collaborative relationships, writes, records and performs regularly at LA venues, while maintaining a weekly newsletter called Adventurous Spirits – strengthening courage to dare and experiment in the long haul of creative work.
Prior to this 2013 career transition, Cortney was a producer for radio, video and TV with CDR Communications in Northern Virginia. 11 years of interfacing with all types of businesses and non-profit organizations taught her the value of integrity and intellectual agility – in service of a story but even more in service of people.
Since 2014, Cortney has founded and facilitated 30+ retreats, peer mentorship groups, masterminds, workshops and coaching programs through Epiphany Space as well as independently. In 2026 she is developing new showcases and networking opportunities in collaboration with Rita House in Miracle Mile.
