Wake Up Hollywood – July 7, 2026

Growing up in a small town outside of Austin, Texas. As a kid,
Harlem piano master Jimmy Neely took him in as a protege,
passing along nearly a century of wisdom and music.
Graduating High-school early, he moved to Boston, MA to live
with his brother Buck Meek (Big Thief) and play organ and
piano at gospel churches like Grant AME & Good Shepherd.
These experiences provided the first inspiration for him to start
singing.
He then moved to NYC and lived there for almost a decade.
Dylan’s friend and collaborator Ray Angry (the Roots) helped
initiate him into the world of hip hop & production & connected
him with Om’mas Keith (producer of Frank Oceans: Channel
Orange and Blonde), who he went on to collaborate with on
several projects including one Dylan is Grammy Nominated for.
Since moving to Los Angeles in 2016, Dylan has worked
with: Dawes, Mavis Staples, Conan O’Brian, Jack White,
Brittany Howard, Nathaniel Rateliff, Quavo, Questlove,
Darkchild, Post Malone, The Marias, Dashboard Confessional,
The Wanted, Miguel, Metroboomin, Tiffany Haddish, Mike
Judge, James Bourne (Busted), Tom Odell etc..
Now, with a lifetime’s worth of collaboration with so many
legends, Dylan dedicates his focus primarily on writing and
performing his own original songs, touring his music, self-
producing and engineering his Records: first all original solo
record “All I Need” (released 2022), and his 2nd self
produced album entitled “Love Languages” (released 2025
through the label Liquid Culture). Has several recorded projects
in the works with plans to release them in 2026.
