Mark Winkler is a platinum award winning singer/lyricist who has had
over 250 of his songs recorded and/or sung by such artists as Dianne Reeves,
Liza Minnelli, Steve Tyrell, Jane Monheit, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Kenny
Rankin and Sara Gazarek. He also has charted high on the Jazz Week charts
with his last 7 vocal releases.

He has had articles written about him in Jazziz and Jazz Times Magazines.
His new album “Hold On” has just been released to universal good reviews
and radio airplay. His last album, released in Feb 2024, “The Rules Don’t
Apply,” reached #4 on the Jazz week Chart. It got a rave review in the
London Standard and in Jazz Journal and Jazziz magazine. His previous
album released in 2022 “Late Bloomin’ Jazzman” reached #7 on the Jazz
week charts and has received a Four Star Downbeat Review as well as
being award best singer/songwriter Album by the Bistro Awards in New
York.

In July of 2024 he sang at the prestigious Pizza Express Soho where he had
as his special guest Great Britain’s #1 Jazz Vocalist Claire Martin. He has
sung at Birdland , Bluenote and the Iridium in NYC and in San Francisco
and Los Angeles, London, Tokyo and Australia. As part of his “West Coast
Cool” project with Cheryl Bentyne of Manhattan Transfer he has performed
at the Syracuse Jazz Festival and in Tuscon, Arizona, Toronto, Canada and
Madison, Wisconsin among many other cities.

As an educator he has been teaching lyric writing “Crafting Great Lyrics: A
Songwriters Workshop” at UCLA extension for 19 years and at the Los
Angeles School of Songwriting for 10 years. His first book on songwriting
“The Songwriters Handbook” has been released in Sept 2024 released by
Rowman and Littlefield and it has excerpted in Music Connection Magazine
and in Cabaret Scenes.
