Classically trained in piano, clarinet and voice, Lisa Martin is a musical force that
draws from the sounds of Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos and Ani DiFranco. Based in
Los Angeles, this singer-songwriter has been on stage most of her life from the
time she first sang a solo in her kindergarten production, to most recently singing
at Disney Hall with the LA Philharmonic. Growing up in the classical genre, Lisa
was an Arizona All-State clarinet player, Principal Clarinet for the Metropolitan
Youth Symphony in Phoenix and expanded her musical horizons by singing in
vocal jazz ensemble as well as playing keyboard in jazz band. Lisa has a degree
in Music Education from Northern Arizona University, where she also played in a
hippie rock band called Spincycle. The beginning of her career started in
entertainment while working for EMI/Capitol Records and Warner Music Group,
but her talents eventually propelled her into another obsession: songwriting. She
knew she had to follow her heart and become the songwriting artist she is today.
