With each composition, Babayan effortlessly melds a rich sense of ancient soul drawn from his native Armenian roots with a deliciously bold blend of blues and psychedelic rock. The combination weaves a sonic tapestry that is most aptly described by the titles of most recent LPs with his band The Dirty Diamond: “From the Stars”, the electric album which beams down with the penetrating power of solar flares and 60’s Marshall stacks – and “To the Stars” a stripped down acoustic offering which makes the listener feel like they are privy to a private fireside session among old friends.
