Dorian Holley’s one of a kind voice has graced audiences worldwide.
He was Vocal Director for the late Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” tour and
for 27 years performed as a vocalist on every one of Jackson’s solo tours. He has
toured with
Rod Stewart, Queen Latifah, Don Henley, Lionel Richie, Linda
Ronstadt, and Jimmy Vaughn. In 2019 and ‘20 he toured with James Taylor and
Coldplay.
Dorian has given Master Classes in Moscow, Russia, Geneva, Mexico City and
Paris and created vocal performance classes at Los Angeles College of Music.
He was a featured soloist for Dave Grusin’s big band presentation of Westside
Story at Disney Hall, singing “Maria”.
The Dorian Holley Band is fresh off 19 burning, sold out performances of A Love
Letter To Marvin Gaye, which Dorian created and produced; a 2 hour
retrospective of The Prince Of Motown’s canon. The shows feature a 16 piece all-
star band including a live string ensemble and brass. They also took the show to
The National Black Theatre Festival in Charlotte, North Carolina last summer for
4 house rocking shows.
Dorian was vocal coach on American Idol 11 of its glory years.
He was lead singer in The Rickey Minor Band on Jay Leno’s
The Tonight Show. He was also in the Black History Museum special at the White
House that won an Emmy. He is in the band for the Aretha Franklin Grammy
Special. He was vocal coach for the pilot Million Dollar Singer and was part of
the Emmy winning Kennedy Center Honors 2020. He has coached on The
Masked Singer and is the first black contractor, assembling and conducting 2
massive choirs for the Oscars.
Dorian has backed up Stevie Wonder, Sting, Adele, Jason Derulo, Smokey
Robinson, The Dave Matthews Band, Usher, Tori Kelly, Erykah Badu, Seal,
Christina Aguilera, Fifth Harmony and countless others. He is the voice of
Grosberger in Stir Crazy and the voice of Choir Boy in The Five Heartbeats. He
sang in the new Coming To America, the Jungle Book, Star Wars, Creed II, How
The Grinch Stole Christmas; tons of movies and TV.
His solo CD is called “Independent Film.
Dorian is married to Uber lawyer Shawn Holley, and has 3 beautiful daughters,
Nayanna, Sasha and Olivia.
