We meet Cherokee cowboy Turan Turtle and Jewish immigrant Levi Kuratowski, better known as “Little Kansas” in book one, ON THE SCOUT. Unlikely partners, together they face extreme weather, outlaws, and forces beyond their control to deliver a prized Hereford bull to the Cherokee Nation.
Both characters return to book two, CALL IN THE DOGS. “Little Kansas” (Levi) has been granted a trading license approved by the Cherokee Nation and is determined to build a trading post on the banks of Spring Creek.
