LUDOVIC LOUIS

Long before traveling the most beautiful stages in the world alongside international artists, Ludovic Louis began his career as a trumpeter in the heart of a family passionate about music. After being rocked by a grandfather a violinist in his spare time and a dad awakening him to various musical colors, the child from Le Havre enrolled in Jazz studies. First at JUPO alongside Alain Loisel then at his hometown music school with Sylvain Maillard, where he graduated in classical trumpet in 2000. By moving to Paris in 2003, Ludovic began to collaborate with artists such as Orishas, Jimmy Cliff, Florent Pagny, or even more recently Sli- mane or Christophe Maé. But it was in 2009 that he met Lenny Kravitz. From this meeting will result nearly 10 years of collaboration around the world, where the Rock Star will not hesitate to offer his audience the talent of Ludovic through his improvised solo performances.

From the biggest stadiums to the most cutting-edge festivals, such as Rock in Rio, Lollapalooza, the Montreux Jazz Festival, and many others, the trumpet player comes to electrify the crowd even more with his in- credible solos.

In 2012, he was invited to repeat the experience by playing a solo for icons Muhammad Ali and Quincy Jones, in Las Vegas during the «Black and White America Tour».
By moving to Los Angeles in 2013, the French artist continued collabo- rations with, among other renowned artists, Kanye West and his Sunday Service, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, The Blacks Eyed Peas, and The Meters.

In parallel to this and throughout his career, Ludovic participates as a musician in various television programs such as The Grammys, The Voice, American Idol, or Dancing With The Stars
In 2020, a new opportunity presents itself to Ludovic Louis and it is under the direction of Damien Chazelle that he makes his debut as an actor in «The Eddy». Through this Netflix series, the artist embodies the character of Ludo, a jazz club trumpeter.

REBITH – THE ALBUM

All of Ludovic Louis’ crossings and mu- sical encounters ultimately led him to go solo. It is therefore after several years of work surrounded by his friends that the trumpeter delivers his first album «Rebir- th», bringing together soul, funk and even Caribbean music influences. This 11-track album, recorded between the United States and France, notably takes us on a journey with the opening and closing of the opus “Madinina”, a tribute to the island of Martinique where the trumpeter is native. «Missing You» is addressed directly to Ludovic’s family and tends to express to us the difficulty of estrangement and the resulting sweet melancholy.

As for the song «Nothing But You» written for his wife, its guitar gimmick carries us away on its pop and fresh rhythm. Finally, it is in the festive and James Brown-like title: «Everybody» that we will have the pleasure of hearing Ludovic sing.
