A Southern California born and raised native, Mark began his life in music at a very young age. Growing up with Peruvian immigrant parents, Mark was exposed to all styles of music at a young age. From American Pop, R&B, Rock to Jazz, Big Band, Salsa, Cumbia and Classical, Mark grew up in a very musical home. His Mom song on Peruvian radio as a young teen and she sang in there home everyday.
He began playing the saxophone at 7 ½ years old and sturdily formally with private teachers until the age of 14. When he was just 9 years old, he also began singing career in Church choirs, continuing to perform into his early teens and eventually joining the L.A. music scene in the 80’s performing with various original and cover bands.
Mark also has an extensive background in law, having worked nearly 19 years in law firms in different capacities, beginning as a legal assistant and ultimately becoming a Paralegal, all the while working as a musician 3-4 nights a week as a sideman, doing sessions and writing original music. His vast experience ranges from transactional law to music and contract litigation.
Mark is also an independent Singer/Songwriter, playing various instruments, and released his first solo effort entitled SHADES OF 8 in August 2006, and he has continued to write, record and produce his original music making it available on all streaming services. As a Solo Artist, he (along with his Band) has opened for dozens of multi-platinum artists including Paul Rodgers (Bad Company), Paul Stanley (KISS), Lou Gramm (Foreigner), Richard Marx, Edwin McCain, Rik Emmett (Triumph), Tal Bachman, Little River Band, to name a few. Mark also had the honor of sharing the stage and working in the studio with such artists as Kenny Rogers, The Killers, Sheila-E, Bret Michaels (POISON), ZEDD and David Cook (American Idol).
In the late 2000’s Mark began working as an independent Songwriter and Producer, working with several up and coming young local female artists, while still writing, recording and composing music for Film & TV placement. His song WAITING FOR YOU (from his first CD) was featured in the Gold Circle Film “My Sassy Girl”.
