International entertainer, Grammy nominated Singer and songwriter Sarah Daye is a triple threat artist who has toured Internationally from Canada, Sth East Asia to the US successfully over a decade featuring and performing her soulful originals as well as favorites in several genres including; Pop, soul, r&b, funk, jazz, house music, classic favorites, Edm and she’s even performed rock hits on major Vegas stages as you’ll see.
Sarah comes from a musical background raised with her father serenading her along her bedside. She was definitely influenced by both patents and their love for music with an incredible Motown classic record collection as well. Sarah danced and sang through out her childhood to Prince, Micheal Jackson, Madonna, Barry White, Stevie, Barbara Streisand & the list goes on.
Eventually she auditioned and was accepted to study at Toronto’s top private musical theatre college in Toronto, Canada where Sarah was born and raised with much culture and richness in a very diverse community.
Lady Daye has produced and musically directed hundreds of live shows Internationally since from Canada, to Asia and to the United States now based in LA on her fourth visa as an extraordinary singer songwriter. Being endorsed by many of the pros in the music entertainment business. Including the great; Wayne Vaughn, Chuckii Booker, Narada Micheal Walden, Kevin Flounoy, Kevin Dorsey and Fabian Cooke to name a few. A truly amazing group with incredible accolades, who have truly come through and shown up for Sarah which speaks of her work ethic. Until this day, they all have been supporting her career in several wonderful ways professionally collaborating on current music projects as well. She is grateful!
Sarah has a very interesting background to say the least, starting off as a professional dancer first, studying at a few dance schools including “Randolph School of the Performing Arts College”. A true triple threat program. Sarah instantly was encouraged by Canada’s top casting directors to focus on her voice primarily as it was unique and clearly a major strength. With disciplines such as Ballet, jazz & tap under her belt, Sarah later took an interest in hiphop, and Latin styles which ended up being two of her favorite styles she flourished in. Daye during 1 st yr of college got invited to audition & was accepted to dance with one of Canada’s first top professional hiphop dance companies called “Dodat” which she was apart of for several years working alongside now incredible Choreographer to the stars ‘Luther Brown’. (Janet, Justin Timberlake, Megan Stallion & Coachella, Diddy, Mart J, So you think you can dance judge, and the list goes on..)
Sarah has been hands on with her career managing herself thus far. From writing and negotiating contracts, arranging hundreds of shows with multiple bands, producing and musically directing shows, choosing venues, performing private celebrity concerts opening up locally in LA and Internationally for many greats, top charity and major brand events, honoring royalty families, local and International night clubs, celebrity stages like R&B Live Hollywood, The Jamie Foxx Show at LA Live; The Conga Room as a frequent favorite. Not to mentioned, The years of features, festivals around LA and performing, hanging with many greats like Bruno Mars, Andra Day, opening for Teena Marie, Mario, Ray J, Mario and gracing the stage several times with Hollywood actor musician great Jeff Goldbloom in Hollywood too.
Sarah has had successful regular residencies such as her nine month stint featuring at The Beverly Hills hotel with her Daye Dream Team band, to singing at the Pasadena Jazz Institute where she started her “Sexy Soul Sessions” in LA first. A showcase residency Daye produced Internationally from ‘Cafe Was’ Hollywood, to Seventy7Lounge in Culver City over 6yrs with her band successfully. The same successful show Sarah took to “Kudeta” in ‘Bali’ Indonesia twice while touring. And the list goes on. She’s been busy.
This incredible musical journey has taken Sarah many places far and wide, experiencing so many great opportunities including singing with Andra Day opening for Lenny Kravitz in LA at the Greek theater. And her latest Vegas features two years in a row fronting as lead singer for “The Kevin Eubanks band” at T-Mobile Arena for 40,000 +. An annual Microsoft production. This was a blessed referral Daye got from years headlining at The West Adam’s Avenue Jazz music festival in LA with her band.
Other great artists Daye has open up for include; Jill Scott & Mos Def at Canada’s Urban Musical Festival, Jose Padilla of ‘Cafe Del Mar’ & Dj Ravin ‘Buddah Bar’ in KL, As well as Dj Bert Bevans (Studio 54 original Dj) at Zouk ‘Velvet Underground’ in KL. An awesome residency Daye had in Malaysia where she shared a night featuring headlining in the room next to ‘Black Eyed Peas’ one night, getting to meet and mingles with them too.
One highlight Sarah still speaks of was being invited to share the stage and sing ‘My Prerogative’ with the legendary “Bobby Brown” and Ralph Tresvant from ‘New Eddition’ for Bobby Browns 40th Birthday @ R&B Live Hollywood on the Cinespace stage, after featuring and opening up for him. Introduced by Magic Johnson who was hosting the evening. All this happened in front of a star studded room of A list artists Including Queen Latifah, Teena Marie, Bone thugs in harmony , Jon B and many more. Simply amazing memories and an opportunity Sarah doesn’t take lightly.
Sarah was invited to be a featured Singer songwriter to be published in a book and later music soundtrack opportunity with five time Grammy producer to the stars in which she was featured with a four page spread sharing her story about being a singer songwriter in Hollywood. The book & soundtrack “Sheet Music : The Diary of a Songwriter” was recorded months in the legendary Henson studios in Hollywood where Sarah was a big part of it. The album book launch and production was premiered at “Avalon” in Hollywood. They opened with “St. Beauty” Janell Monet’s group. And soon after became Grammy Nomination for the incredible works of the Soundtrack.
Now most currently, Sarah’s latest project out is Daye’s exciting new single “Catch Me (If I fall)” a fantastic fierce collaboration with the legendary producer, songwriter and musical director to the stars “Chuckii Booker”. Some of her best writing and recording yet. The songs
