I fell in love with music, at a very young age. My first memory, is of watching Ray Charles singing “It’s Not Easy Being Green”, with Kermit The Frog… I was probably 3, or 4 years old. I was hooked on music, from that very moment.
When I was in elementary school, I asked my parents for a guitar. They got me a drum set. Don’t ask me why. I’ve never been able to figure out that one. I played the drums for years, but I never lost my desire for a guitar. I worked, and saved up my own money, to buy my own guitar, the I was teen. When I finally saved up enough, to buy my own guitar, I never looked back. And the rest is history.
Over 35 years later, I’m still as in love with music, and the instrument, as I’ve ever been. I’ve been working in music retail, since the early 1990s. I love what I do. The idea of sharing my knowledge, and experience, with others, is what I live for.
Recently, I’ve found another avenue to share my love of music. I have a YouTube channel, called ACGC.MusicRadio where I share deeper tracks, and less mainstream radio focused music. Basically, fans of artists I play, may know the songs I share. However, more casual fans, or typical music listeners, may discover songs they’ve never heard before, or haven’t heard in a long time.
Music is truly an international language. It has the power to bring people together, like almost another else can. The more we share, the better off we are.
Sincerely,
Allan
