Robert Jaffe, Ph.D., LMFT
I specialize in the treatment of trauma and addictions. These include both substance addictions (Alcohol and drugs), and process addictions, such as food, gambling, and sex. I have spent the last 35 years understanding how to help people and their families who struggle with these devastating conditions.
I am a licensed psychotherapist and certified hypnotherapist, who has been in full-time private practice since 1984. I work with both adults and adolescents, and handle a wide variety of issues, specializing in the treatment of Trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Addictions, and Relationships. I was the chief consulting therapist for Cri-Help, INC., a residential and out-patient treatment center in North Hollywood and Los Angeles, CA, which handled all kinds of addictions from 1985 through 2008. I hold a Ph.D. in Philosophy/Hypnotherapy from the American Institute of Hypnotherapy, Anaheim, CA, a Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of LaVerne, CA, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy from California State University, Northridge, CA. I have been published in both magazines and books, and have given workshops and seminars throughout Southern California. I am now in the process of co-authoring my first book with Dr. Mitra Rashidian, on how our ego-based-self undermines the development of our authentic true-self.
