Ass kickin great.  Those are the only words to describe this show.  First, I ripped my neighbor a new one for making me cut down a 65 foot tree that was damaging her damage.  You must listen to get the dastardly details.  Then Senior Legal Correspondent Marc Zilversmit and I discussed the ins and outs of Prop 8.  Tastin Amy checked in for a bite about food and finally, Mr. Christian sailed in from a frozen boat yard in Toronto for an eclectic discussion that left us both breathless.  Listen here or subscribe to the podcast on iTunes.

It was kick off to comedy during a Super Bowl edition of the David Weiss Show.  David called an audible and wowed the fans with a short essay on his personal Super Bowl Feelings.  We scored a touchdown with our new culinary segment, "Tastin Amy."  Amy and I reviewed Cent'Anni in Venice, picking apart the food, ambience and the unctuous personality of our server, Grant.  Then, on 4th and long, we went to the heavy offense and brought Mr. Christian into the huddle for more Super Bowl hijinx.   When the whistle blew, another fantabulous David Weiss Show was in the can.  Go Giants.

Landsakes.  We went beserk with laughs on Friday with guests Senior Political Correspondent Marc Zilversmit, "Tasting Amy's" Amy Ludwig and the ubiquitous Mr Christian, who had recently returned from a Guatamalan sex change clinic.  We did jokes, we did our new bit, "Take the title of something and make it into a gay porn movie title."  For example, Pasadena becomes Assadena.  You want to listen.  You have to listen.  You will listen.

We punched the accelerator into The Funny, punching you in the stomach with guffaws, giggles and titters.  Football picks followed and David is leading Amy by 8 picks with only a few weeks to go.  Senior Legal Correspondent Marc Zilversmit offered his opinions on the Conrad Murray case and the Occupy movement.  He's really a lawyer, by the way, not some guy I played Dungeons and Dragons with 35 years ago.  Then, the pleasures of Add to Cart, a few selections from Eat Pray Love and lunch.  Get your ears around it right now.

OMFG, the laughs just keep on coming.  The funny was funny, show stalwart and football no-nothing Amy Ludwig was funny and Senior Legal Correspondent Marc Zilversmit was funny.  But the funniest of all was a technical mash up.  The studio phones stopped working and David had to call his guests on his cell phone and hold it up to the mike until repairs were made.  Radio verite, my friends.

The show of shows.  The new bumper music finally came in courtesy of my music director, David Bragger.  Solid.  The Funny was funnier, the laughs louder, the moans moanier.  At the appointed hour, show stalwart and football know nothing Amy Ludwig called in.  She ate it last week with only four victories.  This extended my season lead to 10 games.  What's that in my rear view mirror?  It's Amy Ludwig.  My second guest, Jon Hotchkiss, Executive Producer of "This vs. That," broke down one of the show's diabolical stunts for us.  Catch it @thisvsthatshow.co.  And then I brought in my closer, Mr. Christian and we dissected the Dodger dilemma, the NBA and whatever was left for us to fill the hour.  Professional internet radio.  Don't try it at home, kids.

Another Friday in paradise.  After a thorough reading of The Funny, the phone rang with the angriest woman in New Jersey, Ms. Jennifer Shaw, at the  other end.  She ranted and raved about teenagers and even presented a list of reasons to Occupy Pine Street, her home street in Joisey.  After hanging up with Ms. Shaw, show stalwart and football know nothing Amy Ludwig came on with her usual mixture of charm, politesse and prognostication.  With the season score at 64-, 57, though, she's going to need more than nice manners to avoid a slaughter.  Then true hilarity ensued because at 12:35, David ran out of material and called Christian on the air to see if he could come on the last 15 minutes.  He could, the show was saved and we'll talk again 11/5.

It was the best show #19 ever!  After The Funny, Senior Legal Correspondent Marc Zilversmit called in and we dove into the Dr. Murray trial, Lindsay Lohan and how Frank McCourt's divorce settlement will affect the Dodgers.  Continuing the sports theme, Show Stalwart and Football Know Nothing Amy Ludwig checked in and was dissed by the news she had fallen further behind in the season rankings.  I read some heart-rending passages from "Eat, Pray, Love," nailed an Add to Cart and signed off, confident in the knowledge my audience was satisfied and entertained.
Friday, October 14, 2011
David and Mr. Christian went 2 for 2 out of the box with their hilarious discussion of the NLCS and ALCS.   The Amazing Amy Ludwig couldn't make it Friday, so Christian donned his Radio women's clothes and gave Amy's picks for the week.  By the way Amy trails David by only 4 wins.  Our new Outdoor Living Correspondent, David Krause-Leemon, called in and regaled us with tales of his childhood hunting expeditions in the Arkansas woods.  I think he identified 17 different kinds of varmints.  After that was the Funny and David's lovely tribute to Gwyneth Paltrow called, "Nice Things About Gwyneth Paltrow."  Until next Friday, America.

TGIF.  With Mr. Christian making it to the studio with three seconds to spare, The David Weiss Show started with an adrenaline rush not seen since someone at Occupy Wall Street first strummed his guitar.  David and Christian talked pancakes and other LA breakfast treats.  Then Christian blew us out of the culinary water with a description of a recent 3 course breakfast he had at Brennan's in New Orleans.  The guests began rolling in.  First, angry New Jersey mom Jennifer Shaw, who railed against the money pit that is the American teenager.  Then show stalwart and football know nothing Amy Ludwig rang us with the news that she and David tied for the past week, making the score for the season 37-30.  Then we did the Funny and Add to Cart.  Then we said goodbye and David and Christian went to lunch.  And it was good.

Some business before business.  Since the premiere, the David Weiss Show is up 67.5% in downloads.  Thanks, listeners.  Also, we are now available as a podcast, so please go to iTunes and get a subscription.

Friday's show opened with the usual hilarity before we segued into an interview with Bay Area criminal defense attorney Marc Zilversmit about the Dr. Conrad Murray trial.  Marc pointed out that even if Murray is convicted, he only faces 4 years in prison and the loss of his medical license.

Show stalwart and football dunce Amy Ludwig called in to rub my face in the fact we tied last week at 9 victories each.

I read selections from "Eat Pray Love" to soothe the audience.

David Bragger, local musician and co-founder of the old tyme music group Sausage Grinder was on.  We talked about the different ways of banjo picking.  (David is my former banjo teacher) and let the people know about this weekend's Goleta Old Tyme music festival.  All in all, a show of shows.

With Mr. Christian firmly strapped in to the co-pilot's seat, the David Weiss Show took off on another sortie of comedic excellence.  After the monologue, David delivered a short, stinging essay on why the Greek debt doesn't matter.  That's right.  The Greek debt doesn't matter.  After that, show stalwart and football know-nothing Amy Ludwig called in to do our football picks for the weekend.  So far this season, I'm leading her 19 to something.  Christian filled us in on the relative merits of Abduction and The Killer Elite, then we talked about Chick Fil A and then it was time to go home and take a nap.
Friday, September 16, 2011
Mr. Christian was back in the studio after a long period of time under professional care.  There were jokes, a treatise on the unimportance of the Greek debt and David and Christian discussed the virtues of Chick-Fil-A, Sonic and In n Out.  Show stalwart Amy Ludwig called in with the results of last week's football picks, which David won 9-4.  All in all, a David Weiss Show you can solidly put in the "W" column.
Friday, September 9, 2011

At the top of the show, David spun out his usual brand of stinging comedy, including jokes about politics, entertainment and the foibles of Americas.  The joke about the Arkansas weatherman is his particular favorite.  Several passages from "Eat, Pray, Love" were read to deepen our understanding of literary crap.  David discussed old camp days with his friend Marc Zilversmit, the liberal lawyer for San Francisco and did football picks with show stalwart Amy Ludwig, who knows nothing about football.

Friday, August 26, 2011
David opened the show with his usual blend of incisive commentary and rollicking comedy before he welcomed his first guest, San Francisco criminal defense attorney Marc Zilversmit.  Marc and David discussed recent release of the West Memphis three before making a rather awkward segue to Dungeons & Dragons.  It turns David and Marc have been friends for more than thirty years and were at the vanguard of super-nerds who helped maked Dungeon and Dragons what it is today.  Then, (trumpet fanfare) old sidekick Mr. Christian came on to talk baseball and whatnot.

David and Christian discuss dental tourism to Mexico.  It’s cheaper there and when you return, you can mow your lawn with your teeth.  They move on to testing sound effects for the show.  Father’s day stories are told.  A serious discussion of the hotness of local news weather girls.  A preview of weekend movies that look lame.  David rattles off a list of things he doesn’t like including honey, Garrison Keillor and fat brides.

Friday, June 10, 2011

David supports Congressman Anthony Weiner because so many Republicans have been caught doing far worse.  He urges Weiner not to resign because Congress needs more dicks like him.  David and Christian rate a hot dog stand mediocre.  David viciously berates Christian and any other newlyweds who don’t have an estate plan.  Lebron is a choker until he proves otherwise.  David rattles off a list of things he doesn’t like including Boston, sushi and The Office.

Friday, June 3, 2011

The premiere of The David Weiss Show.  David and his sidekick, Mr. Christian introduce themselves and David gives a short maniefesto that the show will cover current events, sports, entertainment, food and anything else they can talk about.  There’s a discussion about the financial problems of the Dodgers.  Foodwise, David and Christian wax enthusiastic about the variety of beverages and the Tater Tots at Sonic.  David rattles off a list of things he doesn’t like.
