Two Chicks Talkin' Politics

SUSAN OLSEN

Susan Olsen

Susan Olsen is internationally recognized for her role as Cindy Brady on The Brady Bunch. She is an actress, writer, artist, producer, radio personality and, most importantly, the mother of a fourteen year old son.

She began her career as an entertainer in 1962 at the age of fourteen months, retiring from the business at the age of 3. She returned to show business a couple of years later when a talent scout picked her out of her kindergarten class to sing a song on The Pat Boone Show.  She also appeared singing in an Elvis Presley movie.  Various jobs finally led her to the role of Cindy on The Brady Bunch – a show that has been on the air for over 40 years around the world.

After The Brady Bunch ended, she became a successful graphic artist.  Susan worked for fashion designers and served as art director for a Malibu based clothing company.  She left there to start her own firm called Man In Space and developed a line of glow in the dark sneakers for Converse Shoes as well as various other graphic art projects including book illustration.

A unique and valued relationship shared with the original Cast members of the Brady Bunch led to Olsen Executive producing “Brady Bunch Home Movies” a prime time television special for CBS. Experience in improvisational comedy in radio has developed Susan’s wit making her a successful spokesperson for a number of issues and a favorite guest on all the major talk shows.  Radio experience has included both performing and writing for “Ober and Olsen” a Los Angeles based radio show which followed Howard Stern on KLSX and “H2O” another radio show based in Los Angeles for the Comedy World Network. Susan’s later appearances  involved being a spokesperson for Migraine awareness and for autism research as her son is afflicted with an autistic spectrum disorder known as Aspergers Syndrome.

Life long animal lover and  single mother with a child diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, Susan became involved in foster parenting kittens and puppies from the local shelter as an aid in helping her son understand empathy. Over the past four years, Susan has become more involved in animal causes. Susan wishes to present a rational voice in animal welfare advocacy  and not align herself with radical animals rights activists groups. She is the Director of Media and Special Projects and also a foster mother for the nonprofit group Precious Paws.  She takes under aged animals into her home weans them and helps prepare and place them for adoption.

Her first published work as a writer was released in September of 2009. Susan wrote the humorous side bars for "Love To Love You Bradys" a coffee table book about the horrifically bad “Brady Bunch Variety Hour.” Susan also dusted off her graphic artist skills to help with some of the graphic design in the book.  Susan is also currently shopping her own memoir, “The Youngest One in Curlers”.

Monday, March 26, 2012
Religion As Business? When a church functions as a business should it still be allowed the same special privileges it had as a non-profit religion? Susan thinks that once a religion goes beyond volunteer and charity work, for its community, it should be subject to secular law. But what about religious hospitals? Do they have to abide by government health care laws and freedoms, if they, like birth control, go against the beliefs of their church?
Monday, March 19, 2012
Animals and politics. IS The United States doing enough where animal welfare, legislation, and laws are concerned? And why did Mitt Romney strap a dog crate (with his dog in it) to the top of a car and drive across the country?
Monday, March 12, 2012
Mental Health and Government How does our country deal with mental illness? Should the government have such a say in what drugs are legal if they help certain medical conditions? The war on drugs put an end to some interesting studies and therapies developed using certain drugs, for example, LSD. Is that good or bad?
Monday, March 5, 2012
Women’s Rights And Reproductive Rights Why is the right to birth control constantly under attack? Is this really a war against women in this country?

Monday, February 27, 2012
What Makes A Leader? What are the real qualities of leadership ? Have our perceptions changed over the years? Do any of our 2012 Presidential candidates possess any or all of these qualities?
Monday, February 20, 2012
President's Day. The girls spend the holiday talking about our current president, Barrack Obama. Susan enquires about the rumors surrounding his past and wonders if American citizens should be concerned about the many supposed stories of his life. Sheena explains that all Presidents' lives are shrouded in mystery and that none of us will never know 100% of the truth about any of them.
Monday, February 13, 2012
The Threat of Mutual Destruction. GOP candidate Ron Paul says that this threat would prevent a country, like Iran, from using their nuclear weapons. Susan disagrees, so Sheena sets out to put her mind at ease. Sheena elaborates that the human race always has to have an enemy to fear, be it communism, fascism or radical Islam, but that humans value their own special survival to much to allow their own annihilation. Susan wonders when people will become civilized enough to stop these threats from happening.
Monday, February 6, 2012
Twilight Zone. Susan and Sheena spoof themselves in parody based on the "Twilight Zone" episode “To Serve Man”. They talk about the fictional alien species "Kanamits", their assimilation into human society and how global political correctness prevents any criticism of the fact that they still blatantly eat human beings.

Monday, January 30, 2012
Greedy Bastards. Susan reads Dylan Rattigan's new book, "Greedy Bastards" and she loves it. The girls discuss Rattigan's take on government corruption and what we, as American Citizens, can do about it.
Monday, January 23, 2012
Ron Paul. Susan temporarily endorses Ron Paul, but Sheena can not get on board with her. Both girls agree that whether or not you like Mr. Paul's politics, it is refreshing to see a candidate attempting to do things differently and not cater to the usual party politics.
Monday, January 16, 2012
Martin Luther King. Remembering the man and the politician and and what was so right about his socio-political tactics. Susan and Sheena discuss his life and work and the importance of focusing on a person's political impact and not their personal indiscretions.
Monday, January 9, 2012
Collectivism Susan has an epiphany and realizes that the real argument is not between the Right and the Left but between collectivism and individualism. She then she explains how the United States of America was founded on individualism and but that now there seems to be less emphasis on an individual citizen's rights.
Monday, January 2, 2012
Hysteria And Mob Mentality. Susan returns from a vacationing Salem, Massachusetts and discusses that she is the seventh generation granddaughter of Martha Carrier, who was hanged in the Salem witch trials. This prompts the girls to discuss superstition and it’s influence on our current political scene.

Monday, December 26, 2011
The Insanity of Consumerism. Susan's shares her pet peeve about how huge sales right after major Holidays spoil the actual holiday for retail employees and customers alike. She suggests that consumers boycott days, such as Black Friday, and Sheena offers the idea that online purchases might be the answer to taking advantage of sales, while enjoying the holiday and putting your dollars towards smaller independent businesses.
Monday, December 19, 2011
Extreme Listeners. Sheena and Susan talk about how they deal with listeners who have strong social beliefs that differ from their own. Susan is questioned for speaking ill of radical Islam, while Sheena deals with her opinions about religious fundamentalism in the GOP. Both believe that there is never an excuse for name calling, racism, or bigotry and discuss how to ignore ignorant comments.
Monday, December 12, 2011
The Candidates. Is this really the best the Republican Party has to offer? Herman Cain is backing away due to scandal...who will drop off next?
Monday, December 5, 2011
The Bail Out. Who got bailed out of the real estate crisis fiasco and why? What is the real reason that the economy is so bad? Wouldn't it have been far more effective to give American citizens the bail out money instead of the banks?

Monday, November 28, 2011
I See Globalists. Susan is seeing a globalist agenda behind everything. No need for foil hats, she’s got a foil plate installed under her scalp and is sure that the New World Order is coming....no matter how much Sheena tries to dissuade her.
Monday, November 21, 2011
Thanksgiving. A look at the first Thanksgiving: the truth, the myth and the little known fact that it was originally a celebration of the free market in the New World. Susan fears that the United States is falling victim to “Corporate Communism” and proposes a boycott of “Black Friday” for participation in “Plaid Friday”, an effort to give local small businesses the lion’s share of Holiday sales.
Monday, November 14, 2011
The GOP Debate on Foreign Policy. Two Chicks discuss the latest Republican presidential debate. Susan and Sheena bring up hilarious highlights like Michelle Bachmann's enthusiastic support for torture and Herman Cain's sex scandal allegations…to which Susan jests that the latter could have told women that he would “rock them like a Herman Cain”!!!
Monday, November 7, 2011
Marijuana and The War On Drugs. Both Chicks agree that keeping Marijuana illegal is lunacy. But what about other drugs…should they be legalized, as well? And what regulations should there be on any drugs that might become available for public consumption?

Monday, October 31, 2011
The Federal Reserve. Susan tries to sum up the Federal Reserve, but it is brain pickling to her just how out there this country's finances have gotten. The Occupy Protests still go on but the Chicks are a bit sick of them…especially Sheena who suggests that protestors put their time into “occupying” American citizens in need.
Monday, October 17, 2011
Racism Sheena and Susan talk a little about the history of racism in our country and the treatment of oppressed peoples in general. They possibly identify the new wave of reverse-racism in the United States as a need to still point the finger at our differences which, in turn, holds back further social progress.
Monday, October 10, 2011
Overpopulation Susan and Sheena discuss the ramifications of too many people on the planet and Susan ponders why some are seemily against any actions to control overpopulation. There is a ridiculous vilification of Bill Gates because he pointed out the truth that a healthier society has fewer children. Two chicks decide that the best way to control the population is to promote sex acts that don't fertilize and they decide that they should do missionary work teaching the women of poor nations how to give great oral sex. Sheena suggests a new charity called "Sterilize The Parents".
Monday, October 3, 2011
The Wall Street Protests Sheena and Susan talk about the Wall Street protests and the corruption in government that they claim to be protesting. Susan puts on her foil hat briefly and warns that there are those who may hijack these protests in order to convince American citizens that capitalism is to blame. Both girls praise MSNBC pundit, Dylan Ratigan, for proposing an Amendment to the constitution that would get some of the money out of politics.

Monday, September 26, 2011
