TIM TRUMBLE |
|
 |
Tim Trumble comes to NACA Radio with a been-there-done-that perspective that listeners will get great benefit from. With three decades of experience as a radio personality and public speaker under his belt, Tim came to NACA as a Home Save Counselor in 2009. He quickly dedicated his talents as a communicator to coaching NACA members and helping them understand the often tricky path to a mortgage modification. To date, it’s estimated that nearly 5000 homeowners have directly benefitted from his combination of skills and concern for their individual situation. Many of the members he counseled complimented him by asking if he could handle their file exclusively all the way through the modification process to completion.
Tim is a veteran of NACA’s Save The Dream events and a self-described “road warrior”, having been a part of nearly all of the more than 25 tour events since starting with NACA. He says he enjoys traveling all over the country and especially working with NACA members face-to-face. He notes that for every city he has gone to for NACA, he has walked away with at least one unique story of helping a family save their home.
When an opening came around on NACA’s Online Operations Team, the existing members thought of Tim immediately to handle the distinctive requirements of that team, from handling member files with unique problems to working with the NACA Forum, Facebook and Twitter accounts, to emceeing Save The Dream events all over the country, and now coming full circle to join the team for NACA Radio. |

BRUCE MARKS |
|
 |
Bruce Marks
CEO, NACA
Bruce Marks has an M.B.A. in finance from New York University and a B.A. in
Economics from the University of Connecticut. He was an L.B.J Scholar for Congressman Stewart McKinney (R-CT). He worked as a Congressional Liaison for the Department of Energy in Washington DC and as a regulator for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in Domestic Applications.
As a union activist for the Hotel Workers Union in Boston, Bruce Marks worked with the
President of the Hotel Workers Union, Domenic Bozzotto and negotiated the first ever housing trust fund. This resulted in the first amendment to the Taft-Hartley Act in over 25 years and the first time a local union changed America’s major labor law.
Marks moved from union activist to Executive Director of the Union Neighborhood
Assistance Corporation (UNAC). At UNAC Marks used his finance and organizing experience to be the first to expose predatory lending and its devastating impact. Marks led the fight against the predatory lending practices of major New England banks. For 2 ? years Marks and UNAC researched the predatory lending practices which focused on Fleet Bank, to the public. The extensive research in Massachusetts, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Michigan and other states documented Fleet’s predatory lending practices that targeted homeowners who were property rich but cash poor.
As Marks expanded the advocacy and housing services nationally, the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA) was established.
Under Marks’s leadership, NACA has garnered commitments of over $10 billion for the
best mortgage product in America. A mortgage product with no down payment, no closing costs or fees and an interest rate always 1% below prime. NACA now has 40 offices throughout the country and will have an office in every state within the next 12 months. NACA has become the largest housing services organization in the United States.
Bruce Marks was named the Boston Globe’s Bostonian of the Year for 2007. In a note to readers, Boston Globe editor Doug Most states, "Bruce Marks has made his share of enemies in his relentless push to get banks to provide fairer loans. But what is inarguable is that his tactics kept many people in their homes and convinced some mighty big lenders to change their ways. He's showed how one very determined person can make a difference." Marks’ organization has been leading the fight to stem the mortgage crisis by offering one billion dollars in refinance assistance and getting lenders to re-underwrite unaffordable home loans to what the borrower can afford. The Boston Globe reports many homeowners have found a way out of the mortgage crisis through Marks’ “relentless advocacy and sensible innovation.” |
