JULIO & CHAN

JULIO ANTONIO RODRIGUEZ (WHO WHO JULIO) was born in NYC and grew up near Chinatown on the Lower East Side.  Despite being Puerto Rican, (or NUYORICAN), he's an expert on Chinese food and culture due to his geographical upbringing.  A graduate of the infamous NYC public schools, JULIO enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school and fought in the jungles of Vietnam;  he was one of the last Marines evacuated at the American Embassy in Saigon (now, unfortunately, "HO CHIH MINH CITY.) 

In the 80's he decided to be a stand up comedian, and has appeared at all major clubs and colleges in the NYC region, Florida and Puerto Rico.  He makes a living as an employment counselor placing recalcitrant "poor" people in jobs as part of a "back to work" program.  Since 2006, he's been able to vent about rich people, cops and how "this country just ain't fair" as co-host of internet radio shows with fellow comic and free speech rebel ALAN CHAN.

ALAN CHAN produced, directed, wrote and yes, acted in his own award-winning movie, "SAKENARA," now available on YOUTUBE.  Born in NYC and raised in the South Bronx, he graduated the "FAME" high school (LaGuardia High School for the Arts) as a voice major and SUNY BROCKPORT with a broadcasting degree. He went to ST. JOHN'S UNIVERSITY Law School so he wouldn't have to follow in his father's footsteps as a Chinese waiter (Chan's mother is a Eurasian - hence, he doesn't speak Chinese, but thanks for asking!)

After becoming a lawyer (and thus securing his "survival job"), he freaked on having to wear a daily monkey suit and began his quest to be a creative; since the early 80's, he's performed in, written and/or directed numerous comedy groups (including "Asians With Attitude), a stand up act, bands, musicals, films, plays, short stories, internet radio shows, and hosted a lot of karoke nights.  He's presently hedging his bets on internet radio by working towards an M.S. in Journalism at COLUMBIA'S GRADUATE SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM.  He thought up "THE JULIO & CHAN SHOW" after realizing he and JULIO are kindred "angry, born here Americans who are tired of working."
