DIANE PARADISE

Diane Paradise

Diane Paradise is a 14-year, four-time cancer superhero who is dedicated to encouraging, educating and empowering other cancer superheroes through life coaching and speaking. She was recently seen on the PBS special called Discoveries in Alternative Medicine. This segment was produced by the American Health Journal in conjunction with the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.

She is the former spokesperson for the New York Association of Naturopathic Physicians and has appeared on several radio shows and newspapers, including The New York Times. Additionally she has written articles for Cancer Fighters Thrive magazine, a publication of Cancer Treatment Centers of America and several upstate NY publications.

Her experience with treatment covers the gamut: conventional chemotherapy and radiation, naturopathic medicine and integrative. After trying each of these treatments Diane decided naturopathic medicine was the best option for her because it allowed her to maintain a quality of life the other treatments did not. In 2001, a doctor made it clear to her that she would be dead in 12 weeks if she chose naturopathic medicine.

Naturopathic medicine may have allowed Diane to maintain a certain quality of life, but it also asked more out of her than other treatments. It asked her to step up and be a part of the process. Her participation led her to feelings of empowerment on this healing journey. In turn, she was inspired to be more consciously aware of her thoughts, feelings and environment (work, friends, stress and nutrition) and the impact on her health.

Since she began feeling the benefits of lifestyle changes, she has been dedicated to educating fellow cancer superheroes about their options. Diane continues to share her message of empowerment through speaking, life coaching and the creation of her courage-based comic book, Natural Cancer GirlTM along with several other products and books in the works.
