Today’s guest went above and beyond to make me feel at home! Paul Greenberg of Owner and Creative Director of Greenberg Direct (www.Greenbergdirect.com) is an extremely talented producer and director whose 60% of his infomercials have rolled out – which is super remarkable. In true style Paul arrived with a little picnic basket, a Kosher bottle of wine, one wine glass because the other one broke on his way, Brazilian Cheese bread his beautiful wife made and, of course, Jewish chocolate coins topped with microwave popcorn. Paul then preceded to drink the entire bottle of wine! Almost. We did get a little serious so there is some great information and tid-bits of things you would never know or learn anywhere else about the inside scoop on the infomercial industry. When Paul and I get together we can talk for days – laugh for weeks and dish up a bunch crazy conversation. We do talk about lobbying on Capital Hill for the direct response industry, what that really means, Kris Johnson’s party breath, FTC Regulation on the direct response industry and why it’s unfair. How self regulation kind of sucks and why – but is better than FTC scrutiny. Among other things Paul talks about his work with the Flavor Wave, H2O Mop, Aboer Twist, Dr. Allen Sellner and his bunionectomies ( not sure about that spelling) and how disgusting they are – it’s gets weirder when Paul pulls out his mini microscope that hooks to his Iphone and gives me a molecular look at his eyebrows and tongue! Don’t ask...just listen! Oh did you know that the Abslide Infomercial grossed over 350 million dollars in sales! Well that’s what Paul said...is it true? That’s more than Forest Gump. |

Today’s guest Randall Batinkoff who starred in movies, For Keeps, School Ties, Hefner Unauthorized (where he played Legendary Playboy) Hugh Hefner; has had memorable roles in classic films like The Player, As good As it gets, The Peacemaker and more recently Kick Ass, also produces Video Games, films and even invented a product that I produced a DR campaign for called Top Secret! We discuss Randall’s challenges in bringing Top Secret (www.buytopsecret.com) to market in the highly competitive category of thinning hair for both men and women. Randall opens up about what he would have done different, what he’s doing now with Top Secret (which is a kick ass product by the way). After working together in some pretty bad conditions and shooting 15 people in 1 day and accomplishing the impossible – we dish about some of the amazing people that we were lucky to have on set – although we laugh – we really were touched by their personal experiences! This is a great show because it proves that no matter who you are the challenges are the same in bringing a product to market! All you have to remember is that LIFE IS TRULY BETTER WITH THICKER HAIR! |

Have you ever had an Epiphany? Did you keep it private? Did you share it with the world? Did it change your life? Today’s guest Elise Ballard is the queen of Epiphanies. The author of the book Ephiphany: True Stories of Sudden Insight to Inspire, Encourage and Transform – she is also the creator of Epiphanychannel.com, contributing blogger for PositivelyPositive.com as well as the producer of Dr. Memhet OZ and Michael Roizen’s successful YOU DVD series. Oy vey, I’m already out of breath! This interview rocks because Elise is a powerhouse of passion, inspiration and all things wonderful. It’s not easy, even when you have a publisher to market your book – and Elise knows this first hand. But her insight and advise is spot on. (Spot on get it?) Through interesting serendipitous moments in our journey of life we have crossed paths many times and when we do get together – Elise is one fire ball – today is quite funny because having interviewed me for her book (I’m sandwiched between Deepok Chopra and Clive Davis’ epiphanies) today get to sit back and do the interviewing...kind of like the when the student becomes the teacher! I say this about all my guest – they are totally awesome and from each one there is something to learn that will help you bring your idea, product, or epiphany...to market. Oh and don’t forget to check out the Epiphanychannel.com – you’ll be able to read my life changing epiphany – and maybe, just maybe it will change your life too. |

What a great show! Today’s guest is Marty Fahncke, President of FawnKey & Associates a consulting and marketing management firm with over 25 years of experience in the direct to consumer marketing industry. As usual we ran out of time and we were only able to talk about a few very important aspects of how use the digital space advantageously to market your product. I learned a lesson (actually had Marty on the show so I could get free advice) on how to split The C Spot into segments so that I could take advantage of all of digital tools to grow listenership through tactics with Google, Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube. Marty also offered advice to last week’s guest Rachel London (RAchelLondononline.com Singer/Songwriter) on how to develop a fan base and gain exposure for her music – how Rock’n is that! Look people even a marketing maven like me has a hard time understanding the digital space – it’s nearly impossible but Marty’s advice was clear and concise and spot on...did I just say “spot on”... I know I always say this, but you have to listen to this week’s show over and over again because I am sure you will learn something new every time! You can also partake in Marty’s weekly free webinar at www.midweekmomentum.com. Check it out – then come back and listen to the show, again! |

Special guest Rachel London –RachelLondononline.com– talks about how her passion as a young girl lead her to pursue a career as a singer songwriter and now is challenged with bringing herself to market for the world to love. Not only is Rachel beautiful and talented (and a red hot “Ginger”) but she is super funny and really smart – in other words she is more than a voice and face! We talk about her feelings and experience with American Idol as well as why she chooses not to pursue TV Talent Shows such as The Voice. Rachel’s debut song Toxic – Magic – Tragic gets me up out of my seat dancing and will you too! It’s available on Itunes – a must have download. Rachel’s spirit for life, love and the pursuit of pure happiness and success clearly drives her and for that reason, and after listening, you’ll come to realize that there is talent, and then there is Rachel London! So Josh Groban listen up because your soul mate is right here awaiting for you...say what? You have to listen to find out why! |

Today’s guest is Nancy Tedeschi the inventor of the SnapIt Screw eyeglass repair kit. In the past year Nancy has managed to sell over 5 million units worldwide of the SnapIt Screw – and pretty much on HER OWN. Nancy tells her story of how she came up with the product and how she managed, in the year 2011, to get a patent on a Screw of all things! If you have ever tried to fix your glasses and struggled with the little tiny screw – then SnapIt screw is something you must have handy. Snapitscrew.com – go there and by 5 because they are super cheap – keep on in every where – give them to everyone! Okay back to what I was saying. Nancy gives solid advice to any one looking to bring an invention to market. It may not be what you want to hear but it is super solid and coming from experience. Just after Nancy appeared on The C Spot she was seen on Good Morning America! I enjoyed this interview and I hope you will too! |

Today Adam Jay, the big handsome and ballsy Doc Bottom’s Aspray (see Washington Post article of August 24, 2009) Pitchman extraordinaire recounts how the nation flipped with disbelief when he blasted the airways with his 1st direct response commercial that was so outrageous Billy Mays (we still love you Billy) and Vince Offer (Shamwow) wished they had the “balls” to go that far! It’s in your face message launched Adam right into his next success the Spill Daddy Paint Bucket (Whose your Daddy... Spill Daddy!) and the hyper success seen in every store -The Pocket Chair. Adam takes us on his journey from owning a construction company in Long Island to the CEO of Idea Nation Television Brands that practically overnight. Adam’s wife, rock and inspiration is Wendi “Rogers”, ( who I shared a bed with before Adam...stop with the dirty mind ) whose career as a top HSN host as well as infomercial host of the huge hit Sweet Simplicity in the 90’s, (parodied on SNL – the ultimate compliment) plays a key role in Idea Nations incredibly growth and integrity in a business wrought with (I’ll be nice) smoke and mirrors and over zealous promises to inventors. Listen up people because this show has tons of solid information about the direct response business that you don’t want to miss! |
